Why Use Affiliate Gate

• Seamlessly redirect readers to affiliate links in a non-intrusive way.

• Content remains hidden until the user clicks.
• Supports advanced display modes for different scenarios and campaigns.

Flexible Display Modes

The Affiliate Gate now supports five display modes to suit your traffic and conversion strategy:

“Always” Mode

• The gate appears on every post or chapter individually.
• After a click, it stays hidden on that specific post for a set number of hours.

“Expire” Mode

• After one successful click, the gate is hidden globally across the entire site.
• The duration is defined in “Expire Duration (Hours)”.

“Random” Mode

• The gate appears randomly based on a configurable percentage (e.g., 30%).
• Useful for soft-testing affiliate conversion without overexposing visitors.

“Every X Views” Mode

• The gate appears every X pageviews (e.g., every 3rd view).
• Views are tracked per unique URL, refreshes do not count.

“Custom Steps” Mode

• You can define specific view steps (e.g., 1, 3, 9) where the gate should appear.
• Fully controllable behavior for planned conversion flow.

Optional Blur Overlay

In addition to the main content gate, you can enable a semi-transparent blur overlay that appears on any content block you choose. This layer acts as a soft blocker and call-to-action:

• Configured via CSS selector + affiliate link + view steps.
• Only shows on specific views (like 2, 5, 9).
• Clicking the overlay opens the affiliate link and removes the overlay immediately.
• Fully independent from the main gate, uses separate step tracking and expiry logic.

Easy Setup via Settings Panel

The Affiliate Gate settings are available under the “Affiliate” tab of Init Ad Engine. You can configure:

• Content Selector: CSS selector of the content block to hide (e.g., #chapter-body).
• Affiliate Link: The destination URL (required).
• Banner Image URL: Optional visual element to display.
• Intro Text / Outro Text: HTML-safe text before and after the gate.
• Display Mode: Choose from all five available logic types.
• Expire Duration: Duration in hours to keep the gate hidden after click.
• Blur Overlay: Optional settings for adding a clickable overlay on any element.
