Why integrate with Discord?
- Instant updates: readers are notified immediately when a new manga or chapter goes live.
- Simplified setup: no need for extra bots or complex tools, just a simple Discord webhook.
- Targeted mentions: Role IDs let you notify the right group of readers without disturbing others.
How it works
- When a new series is published for the first time, a notification with the title and link is sent.
- When a new chapter is added, the notification includes the chapter name and direct link.
- If images are enabled, the system attaches an illustration — prioritizing the first image of the chapter, falling back to the series cover if needed.
Managing Role IDs
You can assign a Series Role ID for each individual manga and an All-Series Role ID for global notifications. When notifications are sent, the system automatically mentions these roles to make sure the right readers see the update.
Customizable message templates
Init Manga v1.5.8 provides two separate message templates:
- New Manga Template: used when a new series is published.
- New Chapter Template: used when a new chapter is released.
You can edit these templates to include placeholders such as series title, chapter title, links, and your site name. This makes each Discord notification clear, professional, and tailored to your brand.
Getting started
To enable this feature, go to Theme → Discord Notifications, paste your Discord Webhook URL, and select the events you want to send. Setup takes just a few minutes and requires no advanced technical knowledge.
Conclusion
The new Discord Notifications in v1.5.8 help you keep readers engaged, encourage repeat visits, and build a vibrant community around your stories. It’s a powerful step forward for anyone running a modern, reader-friendly manga platform.
